- 1 mug butter
- 1 mug caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 2 1/2 mugs plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
- Cream the butter and sugar together
- Cream the butter and sugar together
- Whisk egg and add it slowley to the butter and sugar mixture
- Add vanilla
- Add flour, baking powder and salt
- Mix together
- Roll out the dough between 2 pieces of baking parchment.
- Put the rolled out dough on a baking tray and leave to chill in the fridge for an hour or so.
- Cut into circles (or whatever shape you're after) and put back on the baking tray to chill in the fridge for up to an hour.
- Pre-heat the oven to 180c
- Bake for 10 minutes or so until they start to go brown.
- Let them cool to room temperature before decorating.
